Euncet sponsors the largest Catalan catamaran regatta in history
The event closed the 37th America's Cup in Barcelona and was promoted by the Union of Sportive Federations of Catalonia (UFEC)
Euncet Business School sponsored last weekend the largest sailing Catalan catamaran regatta in history. The competition took place in the city of Barcelona, on the shores of Somorrostro beach, and no less than 350 boats of this type participated. The event served as the finishing touch to the Louis Vuitton 37th America's Cup, which was held in Barcelona between October 12 and 20, and was part of the 4th edition of the Setmana Catalana de l'Esport.
The collaboration has been possible thanks to the partnership between Euncet Business School and the Union of Sportive Federations of Catalonia (UFEC), one of the main promoters of the event. As part of the sponsorship, the participants in the sports tournament received merchandising from the business school in their welcome packs.
It should be noted that the UFEC, the main representative body of Catalan sport both nationally and internationally, was the main institution behind the preliminary regatta of 200 sailing Catalan catamarans that was discussed in Vilanova i la Geltrú in September 2023 and which was the prologue to the great world tournament.
In the words of the president of the organisation, Gerard Esteva, it was the CEO of the America's Cup himself, the New Zealander Grant Dalton, who encouraged to raise the stakes in terms of the number of competitors and carry out the sporting challenge that was definitively consolidated this past weekend. On this occasion, the race took the slogan "Free Plastics Sea" with the aim of putting on the table the effects of climate change and pollution on the oceans.
With this sponsorship, Euncet Business School once again emphasises the importance of the environment and values in both the business and sports fields. In this sense, the business school is committed to sports education with its Bachelor’s Degree in Sports and Fitness Science and Technology (CTEF), taught at the Campus Barcelona Can Dragó, a first-class sports venue equipped with the latest advances in sports technology.
