115 employees of MútuaTerrassa graduate from the Postgraduate in Organic Leadership at Euncet Business School
The healthcare professionals completed their training and were able to attend a presentation on the future challenges of the sector in terms of leadership by the strategy and innovation consultant Xavier Marcet
MútuaTerrassa and Euncet Business School strengthen their academic and professional ties with the graduation of 115 workers from the health entity after completing the Postgraduate in Organic Leadership. The event took place last Tuesday, November 26 at the Campus Terrassa of the university and in it 80 professionals (from both the medical and administrative fields) celebrated the culmination of the studies of the program, which they studied with the help of the consulting firm Organic Actions in ten editions from 2018 to the present.
The event was attended by the founder of Organic Actions, Helena Agramunt, the director of Executive Education of Euncet Business School, Anna Llacher, the general director of MútuaTerrassa, Dr. Esteve Picola, and the director of Human Resources of the health institution, Carles Garcia.
In her opening speech at the event, Anna Llacher thanked MútuaTerrassa for the trust placed in Euncet Business School and highlighted the collaboration between the two institutions, explaining the business school's belief that the role of companies should not be limited to generating profits or jobs, but should also seek to improve society.
"MútuaTerrassa is a health entity with more than 100 years of history dedicated to the care of people in Terrassa, the city that also saw the birth of Euncet Business School more than 40 years ago," said Llacher, who in turn highlighted the work and knowledge of the postgraduate teaching team, formed by Helena Agramunt. Lluis Balagué and Iranzu Goicoechea.
However, the main intervention of the event was led by the guest speaker of the day, the consultant in strategy, innovation and transformation Xavier Marcet. In his talk, entitled "Créixer fent créixer", the writer and head of the consultancy Lead To Change said that leadership is essential because "commanding is not enough". In this scenario, he stated that, although thinking is an individual act, reasoning is a team act.
Marcet recalled that organisations such as MútuaTerrassa must be clear that their objective is to "serve others, not to serve themselves" and took the opportunity to share with the institution's team some of his reflections on the future of the medical sector, including the implications that artificial intelligence will have in the coming years on the doctor-patient relationship.
After the collection of diplomas of participation in the Postgraduate in Organic Leadership, it was the turn of the student representatives. Anna Rubio, on behalf of the Vallparadís Foundation, spoke of the postgraduate studies as a training for both professional and personal transformation. "The day-to-day challenges that used to make me small are now seen as an opportunity to learn and improve."
For her part, Dr. Esther Calbo mentioned how the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 transformed the organisation and described Euncet Business School's Campus Terrassa (located in the Parc de Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac) as a place of learning and reflection in which "time stands still", referencing the novel The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann.
The general director of MútuaTerrassa, Dr. Esteve Picola, closed the graduation ceremony by addressing his entire team to share the teachings of the training. "MútuaTerrassa is a collective project, not an individual one," he said while quoting Marcet, pointing out that "sophisticating or complicating things is very easy" and that the really complicated thing is to know our team and correctly manage our resources so that the agendas of our organisation make sense.
The event ended with a musical performance by the singers and Euncet Alumni Joan Martínez Colàs and Laia Martínez, who offered attendees a performance of Puccini's Nessun Dorma and Verdi's Libiamo ne' lieti calici. In addition, they performed an a cappella version of the quintessential academic anthem, the Gaudeamus Igitur, which they sang alongside the graduates before they could enjoy a special cocktail party hosted for them in the campus cafeteria.
